When Nevada State Trooper Estrada spotted a tiny kitten on the side of a busy highway, she didn’t hesitate to act. She pulled over her vehicle and approached the terrified kitty, saying “Hi, baby. You’re OK.”
But then the kitten bolted further toward traffic, and it was up to the brave officer to scuttle after it. After some hustling around, Trooper Estrada managed to round up the animal which quickly hid in her glove compartment during the drive back to the station.
The trooper had received calls about a kitten on an on-ramp of a busy highway and responded as quickly as she could – and thankfully, her quick thinking paid off! The kitty was safe in no time thanks to Officer Estrada’s efforts.
At the station, other officers gave Trooper Kitty some tender loving care before deciding that they would name him after their own colleague! In honor of his rescuer – now affectionately known as ‘Trooper Kitty’ – he was given this new moniker with pride.
However, finding this little furball a forever home was just as important; thankfully for Trooper Kitty that wasn’t too hard either! After being put up for adoption via Nevada State Police’s Twitter page – which posted about his rescue mission with photos of him all snuggled up at the station – he soon found himself adopted by a loving family who welcomed him into their home with open arms.
It goes without saying that everyone involved was delighted by this happy ending for both Trooper Kitty and his rescuer Officer Estrada; had it not been for her bravery and quick-thinking action, this little furball may have been lost forever or worse!
