MrBeast announcing his TeamSeas milestone
Prominent YouTuber MrBeast, whose real name is James Donaldson, has led a successful ocean cleanup initiative called TeamSeas. The campaign involved social media influencers encouraging their followers to contribute towards the cause and resulted in the removal of 34 million pounds of trash from oceans and rivers globally.

In January 2022, MrBeast and fellow YouTuber Mark Rober announced they had raised $30 million in partnership with the Ocean Conservancy and the Ocean Cleanup. These funds were used to organize the cleanup effort, train volunteers, acquire necessary equipment, and hire specialists.

On July 16th, MrBeast shared a video announcing the completion of the project. The campaign received extensive support with contributions from over 200 countries. It generated 1.3 billion views across 40,000 social channels and attracted 170,000 volunteers worldwide.

MrBeast is well-known for his philanthropy. He recently built and donated 100 homes to disaster-stricken families in Central and South America, as reported by GNN.

The success of TeamSeas demonstrates the power of internet-based initiatives in driving positive change.
