A traffic control officer working in the city of Detroit, Lanita Edge recently experienced the power of social media after a TikTok video featuring her went viral. MDMotivator interviewed her while on duty and wished people a happy Mother’s Day. As it turns out, she was surprised when the TikToker Zackery invited her to the Tigers game for Mother’s Day. Even more surprisingly, he had secretly set up a crowdfunding campaign that amassed $50,000 as a gift simply for being herself.

Edge is still in awe over what happened – that someone she didn’t know could do something so kind for her and be an instrument of kindness. She expressed how thankful she felt to witness such an event and is grateful to God for using this man as a blessing in her life. Her story has since been shared countless times online by people who have watched the video and donated money, inspiring millions around the world with its heartfelt message about giving back to those who might need it most.

The whole experience has left Edge feeling incredibly blessed and humbled – especially considering her recent loss of her husband – but also inspired by all those out there trying to make a difference in small ways every day. The attention has grown too; now many people stop along the crosswalk just to say hello or wish her well! It’s incredible how far one act of kindness can go, even if you don’t expect anything in return – Zackery’s thoughtfulness will likely stay with Lanita forever!
